Kathleen Kelley, PMHNP

I am a certified Family Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, with advanced training in psychotherapy and medication management. I particularly enjoy working with clients who are struggling with depression, anxiety, trauma, relationship issues, and the adjustment--both physical and psychological--to parenthood. My background as a Community Health Nurse visiting pregnant and newly parenting families, and my understanding of the hormonal and biological factors that are intertwined with emotional issues during this time, make me an excellent choice for prenatal and postpartum anxiety and depression. I also have experience working with PTSD, substance abuse, and with attachment issues.

My Focus

As a nurse, I take an individualized and holistic approach to both psychotherapy and medications. My therapy is relationship-based, and draws from supportive, psychodynamic, and cognitively based traditions. I am also able to provide medication management for clients who are currently receiving therapy from another provider. I do not prescribe medications for children. I also see children from birth to age 5 for Child Parent Psychotherapy. This type of therapy is helpful for children who are going through changes in their families due to death, divorce, adoption, or other stressors. CPP helps improve troublesome behavior by increasing understanding and attachment between parent and child.
