My Focus

My approach is strengths-based and solution-focused. This means that I will work with you on your concerns while reinforcing the positive qualities that are supporting and helping you already. It also means that I strive to make each session helpful and practical for you. My training and experience includes work with children, youth and families who have experienced transitions, trauma, emotional concerns, relationship problems, and adjustment to change. My approach is grounded in empowerment, mindfulness, self awareness and understanding, self care, learning new skills, and healing. As a clinical social worker, I am connected to the larger community and committed to connecting people with any resources or services they may need. I embrace an anti-oppression and social justice philosophy by acknowledging and supporting people who live within systems that are hurtful and unfair to them, based on gender, age, race, ethnicity, language, sexual orientation, religion, ability, class, etc.
